The new feature, mentioned on the experimental features page, will allow YouTube Premium subscribers to zoom in on videos to see the details that might otherwise go unnoticed. This is not the same as the existing “pinch to zoom” feature, which only allows users to enter the full-screen mode. Thanks to this new feature you should be able to zoom in at up to 8x.
If you are a YouTube Premium user, you can enable this feature under the YouTube Premium perks by tapping your profile photo. You have until September 1 to test the feature and leave a feedback, before a possible deployment to all users.
