Called "Car Keys Tests," the new app allows licensed MFi developers to test and validate their own integration of the digital car keys technology.
Announced in July 2020, CarKey works via NFC and can be used to unlock the car, start it and share keys with others using the Wallet app on iPhone.
Few car manufacturers exploit this possibility (Hyundai, Kia and BMW). Apple is looking to expand the feature to other manufacturers.
The App is being distributed under Apple’s developer account but is currently unlisted. This means you can only access it via a direct link, not via App Store search.
