Analyzing WhatsApp beta 2.22.24.11 for Android and version 22.23.74 for iOS, WABetaInfo experts had found a few weeks ago a really interesting new app feature allowing users to send messages to themselves.
This very practical feature already exists on rival messaging platforms. Signal has a feature named "Note to Self", Slack offers a similar feature called “Jot Something Down”, Telegram has a dedicated space titled "Saved Messages".
"Message Yourself" is now available to all WhatsApp users!
By updating the iOS or Android application (the distribution is in progress, the deployment may take longer for some users), you can send a message to your own phone number in order to create an archive and store messages, documents, links, photos or videos.
This rather special chat will behave like any other chat. It will go down the feed if it doesn't have the most recent post, but it is possible to pin it to the top of the conversation list in order to always have it at hand.
To find out if the feature has been activated on your account, create a new chat and check if your contact is at the top of the contacts list.
