Since taking over Twitter, Elon Musk has made numerous changes to the platform. He has fired top executives, laid off hundreds of employees and launched and rolled back a number of features.

Yesterday the billionaire started tweeting about the Twitter rebrand to X. “And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds”. 

Today the new logo has started appearing on the web and X.com now redirects to Twitter.com. 

X is the favorite letter of Elon Musk. It's in his son's name (X Æ A-12), it’s in his SpaceX company name, it’s in the name for the Tesla SUV, and X.com was the original name for Paypal.

Twitter’s business was already renamed X corp, and last October Musk tweeted that “buying Twitter is an accelerant to creating X, the everything app.”
