According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple could bring solid-state power and volume buttons to the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. He compared them to the home button on the iPhone SE 2, which does not physically press down, but gives taptic feedback as if it does.
Kuo's sources also specify that Cirrus Logic will be Apple's "exclusive supplier of Taptic Engine's controller integrated circuit."
Kuo speculates that if users will respond well to this new design, other companies might quickly get inspired and add their own.
