A company called Meta is suing the company formerly known as Facebook.
MetaX LLC is a startup founded in 2010 that develops immersive and experiential technologies, including virtual reality and augmented reality. The META trademark has been protected since 2017.
"On October 28, 2021, Facebook seized our META mark and name, which we put our blood, sweat, and tears into building for over twelve years", Justin Bolognino said in a statement. The founder of MetaX LLC explains that he tried to dialogue with Meta (formerly Facebook). After eight months of fruitless negotiations, he has no alternative but to file a complaint.
The case will be settled in court.
