The iPhone 15 has been officially unveiled. As expected, there are four models to choose from: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The new iPhones drop the company’s proprietary Lightning port in favor of European-mandated USB-C ports.
The new base model is available in two sizes, with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen diagonals. It looks basically the same as the iPhone 14 and comes in five colours: black, blue, pink, white and yellow. The iPhone 15 will start at $799, the Plus will cost $899.
The iPhone 15 Pro models have titanium sides, which replaces the stainless steel used since the iPhone X. The first notable change is the customizable Action button. It replaces the mute switch on previous models and allows users to personalize their iPhone experience. iPhone Pro also have the faster A17 chip that the company claims will improve the mobile gaming experience. The Pro models come in four colors: black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium. The iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999, the bigger model at $1199.
Pre-orders begin Friday, September 15, with availability beginning Friday, September 22.
