Next week, Mozilla will introduce a free VPN directly integrated into Firefox. The idea is simple: activate it with one click and browse with greater privacy, without installing any additional software.
The feature only protects traffic that passes through Firefox, hiding your IP address and routing data through Mozilla’s servers. It does not cover the rest of your device—apps, games, and other programs remain unprotected.
The service includes 50 GB of free monthly traffic, enough for light everyday use, but not for heavy streaming or large downloads.
There are also some limitations: you cannot choose the connection’s country, and it is not designed to bypass geographic restrictions.
The goal is clear: provide a basic level of protection and strengthen Firefox’s position as a privacy-focused browser. It’s a convenient solution for everyday browsing but does not replace a full VPN.
