Apple introduces iPhone 16
The iPhone 16 is official. The new lineup consists of four models: base, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max.
The base model and Plus offer an improved camera system: a 48-megapixel main sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, capable of capturing spatial photos and videos. The display uses a new chemical formula for the Ceramic Shield, which Apple claims is twice as resistant as other screens. The A18 chip enhances performance.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, on the other hand, feature larger screens (6.3 and 6.9 inches). These models also include the A18 Pro chip with a 16-core Neural Engine, along with a larger battery. The camera system includes a 48-megapixel sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a telephoto lens with 5X zoom.
One of the most anticipated features is Camera Control, available on all models, which allows you to activate the camera and take photos with a simple tap or record videos by holding down. On the Pro models, it will also be possible to lock focus and exposure with a forthcoming update.
Finally, Apple Intelligence represents a significant advancement in artificial intelligence. Among the first features available in the U.S. are automatic email and message creation, personalized image and emoji generation, and advanced photo search tools. Siri becomes more natural, able to follow interrupted conversations and read the context of the display.
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will be available starting at $799. Five colors are expected: black, white, pink, teal and aquamarine.
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available in Black Titanium, White Titanium, Natural Titanium and the all-new Desert Titanium. Prices start at $999.
Pre-orders begin on Friday, September 13, with availability starting on Friday, September 20.
