WhatsApp is working on keeping messages in disappearing chats
Disappearing messages help us message more privately, but you may send a very important message when the disappearing mode is enabled and you want to save it to read it later. In this case, WhatsApp is developing kept messages for a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop!

When users share a very important message in a disappearing chat and they do not want to lose it, they will be able to keep it by preventing its expiration thanks to kept messages: in other words, you can prevent some disappearing messages to disappear in a future version of WhatsApp.
We have already posted news about keeping disappearing messages in the past, spotted on WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.9.0.72 and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.7.4, but we have some different news to announce today:
As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a new section right within Contact Info and Group Info that lists all kept messages, so they can be easily read later: since everyone in the chat can decide to un-keep those messages, WhatsApp is now planning to make it easier to find them, so they are developing this section.
WhatsApp is also developing some more ways to identify kept messages, but we will talk about them in the future. Note that, even if the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp Desktop beta, WhatsApp is also developing the same section on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS and we will post the details when it is ready on these platforms.
Unfortunately, this feature is under development so we do not know when it will be available. There will surely be an article on this website when there are further details about kept messages.
